You may have noticed that anger and
aggressiveness abound in our society.
Researchers at Sweden’s Karolinska
Institute set out to find a solution. They
found that four weeks of therapy delivered
on the Internet can help people with anger
and aggression. Results, published in the
Journal of Consulting and Clinical
Psychology, evaluated the two strategies—
mindful emotion awareness and cognitive
reappraisal to determine which best helped
control anger. Turns out the combination of
both therapies appeared to reduce most
forms of anger. Usually, finding volunteers
for scientific studies is difficult, not this
time. Authors say they had a high number
of applicants. No word on whether those
turned away showed anger.
